A fun one, but not one for the foodies.

Le Petit Chef at the Hyatt Regency is a clever little concept. The animated storytelling, the tiny digital chef running across your table—it’s imaginative and playful, especially if you’ve got kids or guests who love a bit of theatre with dinner. But let’s not pretend it’s fine dining.

The burrata and tomato starter was the clear standout—creamy, punchy, and actually quite beautiful on the plate. But from there, things levelled out. The chicken was serviceable, the tenderloin dry, and the seafood course just didn’t land for me. Wines were drinkable but forgettable. Dessert came and went.

The setting also threw me a bit. It’s hosted in two converted meeting rooms, which slightly kills the magic. No restaurant, just good projection and a choreographed plate drop.

Still, I’d say go for the experience. Just manage expectations. This one’s for the kids, or the curious—not the culinary purists.
