Aunty
Growing up with Sri Lankan family, "aunty" means one thing: unsolicited opinions delivered with a smile.
Latin Manna
I am a sucker for a good empanada. Always have been. And Latin Manna serves some of the best in Brisbane.
Greca
Took my baby niece out for dinner. Gen Z loves a camera and a flash, so I took her somewhere that delivers on both counts.
La Cache à Vin
Brisbane has a secret, and it's French.
Wolf Dining
Sometimes good meals happen in places you nearly walk past.
The French Exit
Small room, big energy. A Parisian bistro masquerading as a neighbourhood pub, and getting away with it.
Venner
Best restaurant opening of 2026?
Monal Dining
Located on Skyring Terrace that looks, from the outside, like a place you could easily walk past.
February 2026
Bosco Wine Grill
@bosco_winegrill sits in what feels like a dark industrial warehouse, almost a shed, and somehow that makes the whole experience better.
Marlowe
Another polished hit from @davidsflynn with @chef_ollie_ in charge.
Dark Shepherd
@darkshepherd_bne sits inside @thestarbrisbane and immediately signals that this is not your loud, blue-and-white, plate-smashing take on Greek food.
Ra Restaurant And Bar
@ra_restaurant_and_bar sits right by the beach, which already puts you in a good mood.
Supernormal Brisbane
Back at @supernormal_brisbane, this time without the opening buzz and with a bit more reality baked in.

Nug Generalstore
This was my third visit to @nug.generalstore, and it keeps reinforcing why I like places like this so much.
Fatcow Onjamesst
Been here a few times, but this was my first time since @fatcow_onjamesst introduced Kobe beef, and yes, I was quietly excited walking in.

@lemakkitchenandbar on a Sunday full of running errands turned out to be the best decision I made all day.
November 2025

Clarence Restaurant
@clarence.restaurant has settled into its new Fish Lane digs nicely.
Singapore Chilli Crab
When you’re in Asia and stumble into a little spot without an Instagram account, that’s usually your first sign you’re in for something real.
Lilong Restaurant
West End has no shortage of good food, but sometimes you just want something simple, comforting, and full of flavour.
Sushi Room
I sat at the sushi counter at the @sushi___room and got the best seat in the house, right in front of the chefs at work.
Exhibition Restaurant
@exhibitionrestaurant in Brisbane feels like what happens when food nerds turn full scientist.
September 2025
August 2025
Longwang Brisbane
@longwang.brisbane is another project of @michael_tassis in Brisbane and one of those spots that hits the mark when you’re peckish and just want a line-up of bite-sized snacks to graze through.
SNUG
Got recommended a neighbourhood café and wine bar called @snug.bne by @aneeshasaty.

For the unlucky few that are yet to experience, @ministryofcrab is a world-renowned seafood institution that originated in Sri Lanka and since expanded to Singapore, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Shanghai and many more.

Billy's Pine and Bamboo Restaurant
Billy’s Pine & Bamboo has been feeding Brisbane for years, yet somehow it stayed off my radar until recently.
Komeyui
There are sushi joints, and then there’s Komeyui

@spillwine.maleny stocks bottles from small-batch producers and household estates alike, while a pocket-sized kitchen turns out plates that impress.

@ra_restaurant_and_bar is a stunning new arrival at the Sunshine Coast that doesn’t just nod to Sri Lanka—it sings.
Le Petit Chef
A fun one, but not one for the foodies.
Cut by Wolfgang Puck
Throwback to when I finally ticked off @cutbywolfgangpucksg at @marinabaysands in @visit_singapore.

Locale
@localenoosa is the kind of place that delivers exactly what it promises.

Italian degustation in a Paddington jewel box, and a butter infused with mussel I would, no questions asked, take home in a jar.
The Himalayan Cafe
Momos worth the climb, in a New Farm shopfront that wasn't built for performance.
The Brasserie at Naldham House
Croquettes, caviar, a wagyu cheeseburger and a steak frites that means business.
Penelope Bistro
A James Street bistro that knows its hours, even if the cooking doesn't quite knock you over.
April 2025
The Fifty Six
Cantonese, riverside, with caviar in the right places. The Murray cod made the table go quiet.

A long Sunday lunch, in a Lebanese key. A lamb shoulder that asks for company and gets it.

Creole snacks that argue with the cocktails, in the best possible way.
Stilts Dining
Up in the air, Michael Tassis's kitchen takes its time, and asks you to take yours.
