@ra_restaurant_and_bar is a stunning new arrival at the Sunshine Coast that doesn’t just nod to Sri Lanka—it sings. Chef @udee_suradasa has created something truly special here: an ode to home-style Sri Lankan cuisine, elevated with finesse and plated like art.
Everything we tried was flawless. The eggplant moju, usually a humble dish, came alive with lush textures and a gentle smokiness, perfectly balanced by a crisp lavosh. The kingfish with kokis was genuinely brilliant—cool, tangy, and unexpectedly playful. But it was the jackfruit thosai that quietly stole the show. Subtle, earthy, and deeply satisfying. And of course, you can’t go past the kottu—loud, familiar, and comforting, just as it should be.
The staff were proud and present without ever overstepping, keen to share what made each dish matter. That warmth makes the experience.
If you’re after something that feels both new and nostalgic, Ra’s worth the drive. This isn’t fusion for fusion’s sake—it’s soul food, refined.
