For those who’ve followed me for a while, you’ve probably seen this place pop up more than a few times.
If you haven’t, this might sound like I’m exaggerating, but I’ve been to @waltersbrisbane over 70 times since they opened in 2018. Restaurant, bar, solo (just kidding, I'm an extrovert), date night, work dinner… you name it. It’s my go-to, and not once have I had a bad steak. Not even close.
There’s a proper New York steakhouse feel here; dark timber, red leather booths, sharp service. You’re always looked after without it feeling stuffy. They just get the balance right.
The wine list is impressive, but honestly, I keep going back to their house Shiraz. Always good. I usually just help myself to a bottle and settle in.
And I know this is a weird thing to say about a steakhouse, but the creamy spinach is life changing. I don't know what they do to it (that's a lie, they may have told me) but it’s addictive. Like ruin-other-creamed-spinach-for-you kind of good.
There are plenty of great places to eat in Brisbane. But for me, Walters is in a category of its own.
