Walked into @creolesoulkitchen and immediately wished Instagram came with a smell feature. Walking in and smelling the rich, smoky, peppery warmth made me feel right at home before I even looked at the menu.
This was my first ever gumbo, and without trying to sound too dramatic; I’ll remember it forever. Silky, spiced, and deeply comforting. Felt like a hug from someone’s Southern auntie I’ve never met. Then came the Chicken Fried Steak, which had me confused at first bite (how is it not chicken?) but once I got over the mental gymnastics, it became an instant favourite.
This place is proud to display the best of Louisiana with their Creole-influenced comfort food. For proper New Orleans soul, right in the middle of Brisbane, this is your spot.
