Sometimes good meals happen in places you nearly walk past. @wolf260queen sits right on Post Office Square.
Step inside and the room earns its keep immediately. The bar, the lighting, the furniture, the art on the walls. It all holds together with a confidence that a lot of Brisbane restaurants are still working towards. Someone cared deeply about this space, and it shows.
We came mid-week looking for a reset. Nothing ambitious. Just good food, a glass of wine, and a bit of breathing room. Wolf delivered on all three.
Bread arrived first, with a honey truffle butter that was very good. Rich, fragrant, just sweet enough. I could have stopped there and been reasonably content. I did not stop there.
The mushroom gnocchi was exactly what it needed to be. Creamy, soft, and properly flavourful. Comfort food. The wagyu rib fillet was solid, cooked well, and came with fries that were very easy to work through. We threw in some broccolini to feel like adults. It worked.
Service was warm without being intrusive. The staff read the room well, gave us space when we wanted it, and kept the wine moving at exactly the right pace.
